Physical Education

Welcome to PE at Foxes Piece School

At Foxes Piece School we love PE and ensure that it is a valued part of both our curriculum and extra-curricular activities.  The children in Early Years are introduced to a strong foundation of fundamental movement skills and these are developed into specialised sports as they get older.

The physical education curriculum at Foxes Piece School provides a balance of learning between gymnastics, dance, games, swimming, outdoor pursuits and athletics.   We understand that PE provides a gateway into the world of sport, physical activity and healthy lifestyles.

Our facilities include:

  • a gym/sports hall with fixed wall bars, ropes and a wide range of gymnastic equipment
  • hard standing for netball and basketball courts
  • an all-weather daily track
  • a large sports field with football pitches, athletics track markings
  • minibus to transport pupils to sporting events

Our school loves taking part in local festivals, tournaments and sporting events and they play an important role in developing fair-play behaviours, teaching sporting etiquette and how to treat others with respect.   We take part in football, athletics, cross-country and netball events and love taking our Y6 pupils to the annual Marlow Santa 5k fun run.

At Foxes Piece we offer a wide range of clubs, wow days and enrichment opportunities for children to try something new.  We have offered tri-golf, BMX biking, Bollywood dance and skipping workshops to all children and our extensive range of (free of charge) after school clubs are always popular.

The oldest children at Foxes Piece pupils take part in a wide range of Outdoor Adventurous Activities at Longridge Water Centre.  The children love to challenge themselves to take on new water sports, extreme challenges and push themselves outside of their comfort zone and maybe find a new sport to enjoy!
