Foxes Piece School

Year 5 - Rowan

Welcome to Rowan Class!

We have an exciting final term ahead!

For our writing focus, we will be looking at writing persuasively! This will be an opportunity for the children to practise their persuasive writing techniques and present their work as letters and posters.

In Maths, we will be looking at fractions, decimals and percentages, and improving our reasoning and problem solving skills.

For our history unit, we will be studying the Battle for the Kingdom of England in our history lessons. In this unit we will look at the Battle of Hastings and other key events around this era.

After half-term, we will be turning our studies towards researching Italy by comparing its culture, geographical features and history to England's.

Our PE days are on a Monday and Wednesday (swimming). Please come into school in your PE kit on these days.

Homework will be set every Friday and due in on the following Wednesday. This will include a writing task, maths task and spellings. Additionally, I hope that the children will continue to read daily, and discuss the books they've read with the rest of the class.

What a busy final term we have together!
