Year 3 went to the Chiltern Open Air Museum and took part in their stone age workshop. They learnt how to make fire, paint and string and a Mesolithic camp from sticks, fabric and animal skins. Then they were archaeologists, finding out about people by digging, searching through ‘rubbish’ from different eras and guessing what people were doing. The children particularly enjoyed searching through fake poo to see what had been eaten!
