World Book Day

The School Council decided to change how we celebrate World Book Day this year.  We concentrated on a variety of book activities within the classrooms.  Teachers and children shared their favourite books.  The children were excited to be “Buddy Readers”.  KS2 children read with KS1 and Reception.  The book sale at break and lunchtime raised £35!  As all the books were 10p that meant 350 books changed hands yesterday.  Also, all children went home with a free book courtesy of National Book Tokens.  Thank you to WH Smith.

There was a real buzz around the school. I was very impressed with the number of children who came up to me and said thank you for organising the book sale and the distribution of the free books and two children came up to me to wish me “Happy World Book Day”!
