  • Sir William Borlase’s Mathsmaster Class

    Thu 17 Jul 2014

The afternoon was really well organised and enthusiastically presented by Sir William Borlase’s School.  The children were made welcome and immediately set a task to get them involved and working as a team. The maths provided plenty of challenge and opportunities for lateral thinking, not beyond their capabilities but extending them and giving them a sense of achievement.

We appreciated being part of it and would love to be involved another year.

  • Year 6 World Cup Art

    Tue 15 Jul 2014

Recently Y6 had an amazing morning working with the art department at Great Marlow School.  Using the facilities at Great Marlow and learning new brush and paint blending techniques Y6 worked in 4 groups to create an enormous World Cup themed picture.  Each group worked on a section before all the different parts were put together to make a single picture.  It looks fantastic and is (for the moment) on display on the doors in the hall – do pop in and see it!

  • Key Stage 2 Athletics

    Tue 15 Jul 2014

Key Stage 2 have been enjoying athletic events. Children in Years 5 and 6 have participated in the Wye Valley field events at a local school, amazing us with their throwing and jumping skills. For the Wye Valley track events and the Liaison group Games children were selected from all Key Stage 2 year groups. All children gave their best and many gained certificates having been placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th.

At all events children behaved impeccably and were a credit to the school. Much fun was had.

  • Year 5 WW1 Visit to SWBGS

    Fri 04 Jul 2014

Year 5 spend a very informative morning at Sir William Borlase Grammar School. They visited a World War 1 exhibition and listened to Mike Willoughby, a local man who had decided to share his own artefacts with the children.

At the end of the session our children made Mike feel emotional as they sang “It’s a Long way to Tipperary” and “Pack up your Troubles”. A lovely way to end our visit.
