Take a look at our latest news happening in school at the moment.
The children enjoyed their last Food Technology session with Mrs Cadogan from Great Marlow School. Year 6 children showed amazing teamwork skills and followed instructions independently. We are so lucky to have a very experienced teacher working with our school. The children look delightfully happy with their creations and they cannot wait to eat them!
Today the Year 6 mini police assisted TVP with the Remembrance Sunday Parade in Marlow. They all looked very smart in their uniforms and all enjoyed being part of the parade.
In Oak class we listened to this story of a little girl who wanted to find out about why people wear poppies at this time of year. We also made our own poppy wreath.
On Friday we were delighted to have Mike back in school talking about overcoming barriers, resilience and the importance of a positive attitude. The whole school took part in an assembly and watched Mike perform tricks on the playground, then Y5 and Y6 pupils took part in BMX workshops! The children loved it and challenged themselves to try something new.
The Year 6 mini police had their first outing today with Thames Valley Police. They got to take part in speed enforcement on the Little Marlow Road outside our school. They provided high visibility, learnt how to use the speed gun and even had a go of using it themselves!
Reception have been busy finding out about the Hindu festival of Diwali. We made diva lamps and rangoli patterns.
Year 6 looks colourful with splashes of red today! We are wearing our red clothes with pride to 'Show Racism The Red Card!'. We took part in an activity based on looking at assumptions and judgements. This activity was an excellent way to talk about stereotypes and presume things about people just by how they look, and before we actually know anything about them. We learnt that these judgements can lead to stereotypes, and both these types of behaviour can lead to some people not being treated fairly. The class did really well in having an open discussion about stereotypes and equality.
