Take a look at our latest news happening in school at the moment.
Year 4 were joined by Year 3 today in our music lesson to practise our guitar and singing with Miss Kerr to the song Three Little Birds by Bob Marley.
Year 5 designed and built their own mechanical Viking toy using a variety of materials. They learnt how to use saws, drills and hammers to create their toy.
Mrs Barry and Mrs Byer were delighted to welcome so many parents from Reception class on Wednesday to talk about the importance of reading with children. A recent study has shown that children who are read to (at least one book a day by the age of 5) know over 290,000 more words than children who are not read to. We shared some of our favourite books and parents then had the chance to read to their child in the KS1 library – everyone was engrossed in the stories! We are looking forward to arranging more opportunities like this for our families to visit school.
Year 6 have been conducting many scientific experiments for their science topic on Electricity this term, and they have revised electrical safety too!
We have been enjoying our art lessons this term and learning how to recreate images of fruit and vegetables. Last week, we created peppers out of clay - we loved this lesson and feel very proud of our pieces of art!
Year 6 had a fantastic session with the Leo Gym instructors. They enjoyed the fitness activities and the competitive sporting opportunities. Thank you Leo Gym!
Reception children today made porridge with oats, honey, blueberries and bananas - yummy!
