  • Year 6 Residential to Longridge

Wed 21 Jun 2017 Louise Chapman
Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed their end of year residential trip, spending 3 nights away from home at Longridge. Despite the heat they tried a wide range of new activities including climbing, crate stacking, water orbing, canoeing, kayaking, raft building and probably the most popular - the giant swing! Everyone had a great time and came home proud of their many achievements and tired out!
  • Year 6 to Riley Park as part of Community Cop Cards

Wed 21 Jun 2017 Louise Chapman

Community cop cards is a sticker-collecting scheme open to year 6 pupils from participating schools. The children can collect up to 24 stickers by completing activities encouraging them to be safe, engage with their local community, care for their local areas and build positive relationships with their neighbourhood policing teams.

The scheme focuses on group effort and peer support as classes compete against classes in other schools to win a class daytrip to Legoland Windsor.

This exciting scheme is a result of partnership working between us and Thames Valley Police. The scheme has been funded by generous donations from parish councils, local businesses and other local organisations.

The children went with PCSO Ling and PSCO Bowles to Riley Park to plant some flowers and litter pick as part of this scheme. We even had a play in the park after!

  • Health and Safety Day

Fri 16 Jun 2017 Louise Chapman
The whole school took part in a Health and Safety day and learned about many aspects to ensure we stay safe when we're in and around school and out and about. We all completed fun activities based on road safety, sun safety, healthy eating & lifestyle, water safety, first aid and how to stay safe in school. We are now very confident in knowing how to stay safe!
